FAQ:
What is Porchfest?
PorchFest LA is a free event held on neighborhood porches in Los Feliz, Silver Lake, and East Hollywood on the first Saturday and Sunday of November 2025. This is our second year! From 11:00 to 5:00 each day, dozens of performers will strut their stuff on porches, patios, and yards throughout these beautiful neighborhoods.
Is Porchfest really free?
Yes! But if you’d like to make a donation, you’re absolutely welcome!
Is Porchfest walkable?
Yes! Though we may have a few different routes that you can bike or drive between. Check back here closer to the date for neighborhood maps! The routes themselves are each only a few blocks long.
Is the event pet and child friendly?
Hosts may have different rules for their porches. More information for each porch will be available closer to the event.
Is alcohol allowed? How can I purchase beverages?
Neither Porchfest LA nor our hosts are permitted to sell anything. Some porch hosts may allow you to bring your own alcohol to their home, but always check with them first. Open alcohol containers are not allowed on the street or between venues in accordance with local ordinances.
What should I bring with me? What should I leave at home?
We advise you to bring folding chairs and blankets for seating in front of porches. As noted above, NO alcohol outside of permitted hosting venues. And if a host does allow you to bring a pet, it must be on a leash.
Are restroom facilities available?
Hosts are not required to make their bathrooms available, but check your map for restaurant and cafes close by. They might offer you access to their restroom (especially if you buy something).
Do you have a lost and found?
We do not have an official lost and found but could get the word to our hosts if think you left something behind. Contact info at support@porchfestla.com with details and we will get the word out for you.
What's expected of a host?
Hosts are required to sign a host/performer agreement, indicating that the performer agrees to treat you and your property with respect (and vice versa) and that you are not liable for any accidents or injuries that may occur on your property during Porchfest. This is a volunteer effort on all, and we want to ensure that hosts and performers are gracious and supportive of one another. Host homes must have homeowners insurance. Porchfest LA is not responsible for any accidents or injuries that may occur on your property during the event. Hosts are required to provide the electricity and space needed for the performance. Performers must have their own sound equipment, including microphones, speakers, extension cords, and music. The maximum performance time is between 5 and 45 minutes. After the performance at your home, guests will be to move on to the next home. Hosts must inform ALL of their immediate neighbors about the event at least 2 weeks prior to Porchfest. Please be neighborly and gracious when explaining the event, and be sure to invite them! Volunteers will be onsite to hand out maps of the performances. Please understand that this event is open to public, and the entire community is invited to attend. As a host, you must be open to allowing strangers to stand in front of your home and/or sit on your steps or lawn to enjoy the performance. A lot goes into planning this event, and it’s imperative that the performance at your home starts on time. Starting late will throw off all of the other performances.
