Porchfest L.A. is conducting a poster competition for this year’s Porchfest.

In 2024, its inaugural year, with massive community participation and fanfare Porchfest L.A. took place on 20 donated front porches in the neighborhoods of Los Feliz, Silver Lake and East Hollywood. 120 musical artists, comedians, mentalists, poets and more entertained in a free event spread over two days. This year’s Porchfest will take place locally on November 1st and 2nd from 11 am to 5pm each day.

 

An entirely volunteer-run event, Porchfest L.A. is soliciting artists for a poster competition, seeking works that capture the essence of the event: community, artistry, and humanity. Artists are encouraged to submit designs for one or more of the following:

 

     • A poster for the event’s pre-production period, to be used in all advertising and community outreach pertaining to the planning and producing of Porchfest L.A.

     • A separate poster to be used exclusively to promote attendance at the actual event on November 1 & 2.

     • A permanent logo for Porchfest L.A. to be used on the website, and in all correspondence by and for Porchfest L.A.

 

Poster designs are to be submitted as 1080 x 1350 pixels, 4:5 aspect ratio PNG images. Logo designs should be 1080 x 1080. Please do not submit AI built images, as the desired sensibility is to be tangibly homegrown.

 

Although there are no cash prizes, entrants selected as winners in any of these categories will have their names on the posters that will be distributed throughout the participating neighborhoods as well as on the front page of the Porchfest L.A.’s website and on all promotional media throughout the event. Should there be an effort to merchandise Porchfest L.A., the terms of said usage shall be negotiated with the artists in advance.
